📻 About Us
The Williams County Amateur Radio Association (WCARA) is a community of amateur radio operators based in Williams County, Ohio. Since forming in 2021, we’ve grown into an active and enthusiastic group, focused on communication, education, and public service.
Our club welcomes everyone—from brand new hams to experienced operators—and offers a place to connect, learn, and serve the community through the power of radio.

Vision-
We as Williams County Amateur Radio Association help people grow in Amateur Radio through focused Training, Development, and Implementation.
Mission-
Serving the community with radio communications.

📡 Our Club Callsign – KA8OFE
Our club proudly operates under the callsign KA8OFE, originally held by David Mohre, a respected amateur radio operator whose legacy continues to inspire us. After his passing, the club acquired his callsign to honor his contributions to amateur radio in Williams County and to keep his call active on the airwaves he loved.
Using KA8OFE connects us to our roots and reminds us of the importance of mentorship, service, and community in ham radio.

🌪️ Emergency Communications & ARES
WCARA has a strong foundation in emergency communications, with many members active in ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service). We proudly support SKYWARN operations, weather net activations, and coordination with local emergency management.
We operate under our ARES callsign: KT8EOC, and maintain readiness to assist during severe weather events and public safety incidents throughout Williams County and the tri-state region.

🗼 Our Repeater
Our primary repeater is one of the most reliable in the tri-state area, providing strong coverage across Northwest Ohio and parts of Indiana and Michigan. It supports our weekly nets, emergency traffic, and everyday use by local hams.
